Project Background & Objectives
To secure energy resilience and advance carbon reduction, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) partnered with Sustainable Energy Partners for a 225 kWp roof-mounted, grid-tied solar PV system at their primary warehouse in Tyre, Lebanon. This deployment leverages clean daytime generation to offset utility draws and stabilize foundational energy architecture.
Operational Challenges & Logistics
Working within an active UN mission zone involved strict logistical hurdles. Engineering a roof-mounted array for the 225 kWp system required structural load validation, while synchronization was needed with a 654 kVA backup diesel generation matrix. Sustainable Energy Partners completed integration with zero downtime or interference to logistics.
System Performance & Sustainability Impact
The system delivered immediate grid relief and operational efficiencies for the Tyre compound, minimizing fuel consumption and daily utility draws. It achieves an environmental offset of 385 tons of carbon emission savings annually.
